Santa Barbara or bust...

Road trip...

I'm heading down to Santa Barbara for a family wedding shower this weekend. My sister-in-law and I are hitting the road early Friday... hoping to avoid 5% of the Labor Day weekend traffic. Yep, I know, good luck with that.

We're planning to pump up the tunes and enjoy a Thelma & Louise type journey, minus the cliff dive.
 

I got this text from her...

I thought if the coin toss didn't go my way, we'd try a few more times. Hey, I'm the one doing all that driving.

I'm toting several pairs of dark sunglasses, two scarves, three sun hats and various clothes for every and all occasions. When I fly, I pack like a miser. When I drive, I pack like I'm moving there. Why not?
I hated to tell her I only put my top down at sunset...you'd think I was a vampire...so I'll be sucking it up and wearing a huge hat!

Also coming with me is this simple sunscreen stick. It's a physical block, so works instantly. I always keep one in my purse and one in my car to smear on my hands every time I get behind the wheel. It's my secret weapon against those nasty "liver spots". Looks better than cotton gloves and feels much cooler.
